September Meeting
We open the upcoming season with the general meeting on September 4th at 8:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Bob Sinkewicz Hall on the second floor.All members welcome. Look forward to seeing you there! The E-board is looking forward to a new year and new officers.

2012-2013 Dues
Everyone should have received their invoice for dues for the upcoming season. Members are encouraged to please pay dues promptly.

Outdoor Archery

A fantastic outdoor archery range for members has been constructed behind the club with 10-50 yard shooting range (65 yards to follow).

Thanks to Jim Walsh for overseeing the project, thanks to George Williams and C. B. Kieth for planning and design, and also thanks to Leon Grindle,Tom, Bob Didrick and Joe Fee for donating their time and hard work to help construct it. Come on down and check it out! Range Rules
Each member must read and understand the range rules posted on the door of the range. All rules will continue to be strictly enforced.

Reminder to all members regarding guests and family members in the range
WSC will strictly continue to enforce these rules.Guest rules as folows:

  1. All family members are welcome at any time, accompanied by a member in good standing. Family members must wear a family card and lanyard, available in the range. (No donation required for family members).
  2. All guests must wear a visible guest vest available in the range.
  3. A donation of $2.00 per guest and the guest’s sticker shall be placed in the box provided at the door upon completion of range use.
  4. All members are responsible for their guests and their guest’s conduct while they are on club property.
  5. Members in good standing may bring more than one guest into the club. Only one guest with a member may occupy a range station at a time.


Instructors
DON’T FORGET

  1. Pleasemark the date and time of your class on the calendar downstairs to prevent any confusion and double booking of a room.
  2. When in the range all trainees must wear the trainee vest available in the range.

The Junior Program
The Junior program will be starting up in early October. Date TBA. The junior program meets every Wednesday night 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m except during school vacations and snow days. We will start off the year with some new rifles! The club has purchased them with the money received through donations in Bob Sinkewicz’s name. Thanks again to Ron Hidalgo our past president and owner of the Sportsmen’s Den, 666 Southern Artery in Quincy, who obtained the  rifles for us at cost! Check out Ron’s shop, he has some great deals!

Anyone interested in attending just stop by on Wednesday night or contact Dick Striano at 781-749-7271 with any questions. You may also email Dick. Feel free to volunteer at the junior program, we had consistent kids this past year. It is becoming a solid program here at the club. 

The Bob Sinkeiwicz Hall 
Following the last general meeting, with Bob’s family present, the executive board recognized Bob Sinkiewicz’s dedication to the Weymouth Sportsmen’s Club by dedicating the upstairs classroom to Bob with a commemorative plaque.

Bob was a true pillar of this club and responsible for its re-building. From now on all our general meetings will be held in the Bob Sinkewicz Hall on the second floor. WSC has purchased several rifles for the junior program with money the club received through multiple donations in Bob’s name since his passing. This was Bob’s wish.

Mass certified pistol permits and FID classes
Discounted Mass certified pistol permits and FID classes are offered at the club. For further info requarding instructors and upcoming classes or to take a tour of the club, call Dick Striano at 781-264-2884 or email at richardstriano@yahoo.com.

Membership
Our membership is increasing! Any member who brings in another member will get $10 off their dues. The same will apply to instructors for students they train and join the club. A further incentive will be $130.00 total dues for these new members. Put your name and “in house” in the upper right hand corner of their application. Applications are on the shelf of top of the blue lockers, in the back room.

Classess offered at the club
The Weymouth Sportsmen’s Club offers classes in women’s shooting, scout merit badges for rifle and archery, refuse to be a victim, Eddie Eagle and Mass/NRA certified pistol intructor classes throughout the year. In addition certified instructor classes are offered in rifle, shotgun, personal protection, home firearm safety and range safety officer. If you are interested in a particular class or have a group of people interested in a particular topic, please call Dick Striano at 781-264-2884 or email at richardstriano@yahoo.com

New Member Orientations
New member applicants are required to attend an orientation meeting in order to obtain key card access to the club and the range. All potential new members must sign up for and attend the session. Orientation is held monthly on the first Tuesday of each month following the general meeting at 8 p.m. Choose a date then email info@weymouthsportmensclub.com with your name and the date of orientation you will be attending.

Please note: your application must be completed and submitted at least two weeks prior to the date of new member orientation or you will need to sign up for the following month.



B.S.A. Venture Crew 73
The B.S.A. Venture Crew meets regularly at the Weymouth Sportsmen’s Club. Our crew is a group of Boys and girls ages 14-20. Call Maryanne for information 781-985-5121.

If a member knows of a special event or is offering a course and would like it listed on the website calendar just send an email. If you would like to include something in the monthly newsletter such as new activities, upcoming programs or local events that may interest other members, send an email and it will be posted it in the next newsletter.

Scituate Rod and Gun Club
In an effort to promote the sport of skeet, the Scituate Rod and Gun club, would like to invite all members of the WSC to come and shoot skeet at the SRGC at the member rate of $3.00 per round. Skeet is run on Sundays from 11am-6pm and on Wednesdays 5pm-9pm, under the lights. Turnout can be sparse on Wednesdays, during the winter months, so it is suggested that you call the club before coming down. (781)545-1510.
