It is with great sadness that we note the recent passing of our past president Robert Sinkiewicz. Bob was a longtime member of the executive board, holding various positions as needed in the club. To say he will be missed is truly an understatement. He was not just a member or part, he really was the club.
After the fire Bob was one of the people who vowed the club would be rebuilt and reopen, “better than before”. His years working as electrical inspector for the town became key to our reopening. He was a real mover and shaker and knew exactly what we had to do. Without Bob, this club would not be here today.
Even his obituary stated no flowers, send donations to our junior program. This was classic Bob, always for the club, never for himself. In Bob’s behalf members may still make their donations to the WSC Junior Program.
Recently the club building has had a few alarm problems with it beeping and going off. We are aware of the problem and have been working to repair it. We apologize for any inconveniences with the club not being open. Hopefully at this point it is working properly.
Range officers have been finding large targets in the range. Club rules state 24″ targets or smaller. The target size was determined by what size would not have shots hitting the floor. If larger sizes are used they must be at 50′ or it is very easy to shoot a bit low and hit the floor. Hitting the floor not only causes floor damage, but may cause a ricochet and splash back. We want to protect both our members and floor. Thanks.
