How to obtain your firearms license
- Determine the requirements of the law enforcement agency (Police Dept.) in the town where you live. We recommend calling your local police department to determine what their specific requirements are for obtaining your LTC.
- The following is a list of things you may need to complete the application depending on the requirements of your town law enforcement agency. For any questions, please contact your town’s licensing officer.
-Birth certificate
-Personal statement
-Letters of recommendation
-Certificate of completion of a firearms safety course certified by Mass State Police and taught by a Mass State Police certified instructor. (Required) - Contact the Club at theweymouthsportsmensclub@gmail.com, or call the club at 781-335-9223 for training Weymouth Sportsmen’s Club has many MA State Police certified instructors.
- After completing the steps above, set up an appointment with the licensing officer in your town. Once your application has been submitted, allow weeks several months to receive your LTC License.
