INSTRUCTOR RULES

Procedures for Instructors for Range and Club Use

Mandatory meeting for instructors who use the club for training in January 2012
Meetings will be held on Wed. Jan 4th and on Wed. Jan. 11th at 8pm. Instructors must attend one of the meetings. If unable to attend either meeting you must contact Dick Striano to continue using the club for training. Several procedures are being changed and certain issues will be clarified.

A course for new pistol instructors will be offered late January. The NRA has new requirements that will require fewer, but larger classes that must be registered with them in advance. Contact Dick Striano for further info. 781 749 7271.

Guidelines for certified instructors to keep things running smoothly.

  1. All instruction and training must be listed on the calander (on the door to the rear room first floor) in advance of training.
  2. Appropriate fees must be paid at the conclusion of the training session.
  3. All instructors must be registered with the club with copies of credentials.
  4. Instructors should review the instructor training procedures posted on the range door.
  5. Regardless of the number of students in the range, only one booth should be used by instructors.
  6. The range is to remain open to all members, even during training. One student shoots and the others observe and critique.
  7. Vests are for guests, not students being trained.
  8. Club training rules and the NRA, specify using 22s only for the actual training. After training the instructor may introduce center fire handguns to be shot. The exception is students from Boston, where they are tested using 38's. The club should be notified in advance if 38's are to be used.
  9. The donation of $25 per student must be paid at the time of training. Checks may be left in the guest or locker boxes, or under the office door. In the event that an instructor chooses to do the verbal part of the course outside of the club and train in the range the donation of $25 still applies. Students are not guests.

Scheduling use of facilities.
To date we have had almost no conflicts. This club can handle several instructors at one time. Training may be done in the upstairs hall, downstairs hall, lobby or even an office. If you know ahead when you will be training mark the date and time on the instructor calendar located on the door to the back room on the first floor.

Also, email your request to richardstriano@yahoo.com. If you need a particular space, email in advance for approval. You may also contact Dick Striano by phone 781-749-7271, cell 781-264-2884.
